Doorman is a lightweight menu-bar utility for MacOS that makes installing third-party apps feel simple again.

Choose a folder—usually Applications—and Doorman will wait quietly until you add a new app. When you do, it automatically clears the Mac gatekeeping that makes using third-party apps for the first time very frustrating.

Doorman will never disable Mac gatekeeping system-wide, it requires no privileged helper, and only watches the folder you choose.

Doorman is private by design: It requires no signup, no telemetry, and no network services.

Doorman is lightweight and event-driven: It will sit idly until it is needed.

Doorman doesn’t download, launch, delete, or modify your apps. It simply removes their quarantine metadata after they are placed in your chosen folder—giving you a smoother way to use software from outside the App Store without weakening your Mac’s security settings globally.
